On October 18, 2023, at the stadium of Ton Duc Thang University, the Final Match and the Closing Ceremony of the 2nd Annual National Seven-a-side Student Football Tournament - 2023 took place.
The Closing Ceremony was attended by Mr. Do Van Nhat - A Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Vo Minh Tri - a member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Referees Committee of VFF, and Mr. Vu Dinh Hoang Tung - The General Secretary of Vietnam University and Professional College Sports Association.
On the part of TDTU, there was the participation of Dr. Tran Trong Đao – President of TDTU, and Dr. Le Tan Phat – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sport Science.
The 2nd Annual National Seven-a-side Student Football Tournament - 2023 took place from October 10 to October 18, 2023, with 32 teams participating from universities and colleges across the country. After going through 16 thrilling matches filled with surprises and various emotions, the TDTU men’s football team remarkably earned a spot in the final match alongside Water Resources University (WRU). In the final match on the afternoon of October 18, 2023, with a determined fighting spirit, the TDTU men’s football team closely defended and executed powerful attacking plays, resulting in a captivating and dramatic match that concluded with a score of 2-1 in favor of TDTU. They officially became the champions of the season. At the end of the final match, TDTU’s goalkeeper, Tran Quang Dat, also earned the title of the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
The event is a great opportunity for students to affirm their bravery and passion for the king of sports, aiming to build a sports community for young people and contribute to the overall development of our nation’s sports.
TDTU Stadium is regarded as one of the most modern and extensive stadiums today, boasting a seating capacity of 7,000 with roof cover, along with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The field features artificial turf and is meticulously maintained by dedicated staff, meeting FIFA’s 2-star standards. It is a frequent venue for large-scale sports competitions, capable of accommodating night-time live broadcasts for both national and international tournaments in accordance with international FIFA standards.
