On October 12, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a conference on implementing of regulations on Scientific Research and collecting feedback on science and technology activities for the academic year 2023-2024.
Attending the Conference was the presence of Dr. Tran Trong Dao - TDTU President; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - TDTU Vice President, Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau - TDTU Vice President, along with leaders of Departments, Divisions, Faculties, Institutes, research groups under the University and nearly 200 lecturers and researchers holding Professor ranks, Associate Professor ranks, Doctorate degrees.
The conference aimed to promote science and technology activities in the academic year 2023-2024 towards sustainable and substantive development; pay special attention to finding solutions to improve the effectiveness of scientific research associated with teaching and innovation; and deploy digital transformation applications in managing scientific research activities.
Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of the University affirmed: Scientific research is an activity that the University always pays attention to because of its commitment toward evolving into a research university. Through the Conference, the University provided lecturers with information about its goals and objectives for doing scientific research, listened to their perspectives, and provided additional suggestions on how to carry out those activities in the University in the new academic year. The President also expected that the lecturers who attended the Conference would serve as the nucleus to promote the University’s science and technology activities, spreading information and policies of the University to lecturers, researchers, and employees at the University so that they understand thouroughly the University’s guidelines and policies, thereby unifying the implementation of the University’s common missions.
At the Conference, lecturers and researchers focused on discussing and proposing ideas on how to deploy and apply regulations on scientific research activities at the University in the coming time. The University leaders answered questions and affirmed that the University always accepts feedback to improve policies to accompany and ensure the rights of the University’s team of scientific researchers. At the Conference, the University also introduced a newly issued policy on attracting experts and high-quality human resources to work with it.
Concluding the Conference, on behalf of the Presidential Board, Dr. Tran Trong Dao directed pertinent units, faculties and departments to promptly propose solutions to implement the policies issued by the University; suggest some major directions and solutions in developing strong research groups; attract experts and high-quality human resources to work at the University. In particular, he emphasized that the University’s scientific research activities in the coming time need to promote deeper connections with the business community, more broadly with the Government’s socio-economic development program and localities, provinces and cities, to better serve the mission of national socio-economic development.
